Nancy McFarlane is Raleigh's new Mayor. As a small business owner, Nancy has a firsthand understanding of what it takes to make Raleigh a business-friendly city. Her business success and acumen have been important in shaping her leadership style as a competent and efficient consensus builder. In 2002, Nancy launched MedPro Rx, Inc., an accredited specialty infusion pharmacy that provides medications and services to provide support for clients with chronic illness. MedPro Rx consistently ranks as one of the best places to work in the Triangle and recently ranked as the #1 small business in the Triangle, and #2 in the South.
Coupled with business experience, Nancy has experience serving our city as an elected official. Nancy was first elected to Raleigh city council in 2007. During her 4 years, Nancy maintained a strong focus on enhancing Raleigh's long-term planning goals. Nancy is excited to help lead the effort to finalize Raleigh's Unified Development Ordinance, which, coupled with Raleigh's Comprehensive Plan, will collectively frame how our city evaluates numerous issues including Land Use, Transportation, Environmental Protection, Economic Development, Housing Options, and more!
Nancy is honored and humbled that the people of Raleigh have placed their confidence in her as the Mayor of Raleigh. She is excited to continue to make Raleigh the best place to live, work, and raise a family in the nation.
