The Raleigh St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee Announces The 2010 Rose of Raleigh

The winner of the Rose of Raleigh contest was announced at the annual fundraiser on February 21.

Miss Lowery's essay "What Irish traditions are you most proud of and how are they kept alive in your life?" won her this year's title. Mayor Charles Meeker was on hand to present Rhiannon and Runner-up Christina McElvaney.

Congratulations to both young women!

The Rose of Raleigh contest was derived from the world-renowned “Rose of Tralee International Festival” —one of Ireland’s premier festivals held in Tralee, County Kerry, Ireland.

The Parade Committee would like to encourage all eligible young women to apply next year.
